Efficiency measurement
======================

at a Francis turbine in Turkey
------------------------------

In the course of a refurbishment project in a Turkish hydropower plant, we carried out a thermodynamic efficiency measurement on a Francis turbine. In addition to the efficiency measurement, the flow rate was determined with the help of clamp-on ultrasonic sensors on an exposed pipe section in the turbine waterway.

Due to the detailed process planning in advance and the close cooperation with the customer over the entire project period, the field measurement was successfully carried out within a very short time.

The knowledge gained from the measurement and plant inspection is incorporated into the optimisation process of the new impeller, with which Prof. Dr. Jaberg & Partner GmbH was also commissioned.
