Francis-Camelback-Turbine

Simulation and optimisation for a Canadian hydropower plant

For a Canadian hydropower plant built in 1905, Jaberg & Partner is carrying out the simulation and optimisation for two new Francis-Camelback-turbines, now that the power plant is at the end of its life.

Using a comprehensive CFD simulation, we will first recalculate the old runner and guide vane components, and then design and optimise the new turbine geometry.

The output of a single turbine of this Hydropower plant is 2.5 MW at a head of 16 metres.
