For a fossil-free, decentralised and regional energy supply, regional small hydropower offers perfect conditions, also for widespread use. The focus of this year's forum is therefore more than ever on the application, especially in the regional implementation of small hydropower projects in the alpine region.

The technical paper by Dr. Jürgen Schiffer appropriately deals with the topic of tapping unused hydropower potential - from the initial idea to the customised turbine. We are pleased to be able to contribute to the programme!

We are also pleased to welcome the expert contribution of Prof. Helmut Benigni, from the Institute of Hydraulic Fluid Machinery HFM ot the Graz University of Technology, on the topic of "Fish-friendly turbine design".
